RKO was the 2nd full-time cast in Northern California.

It was founded on 2 Nov 1979 by Chris Van Parys and Lily Walker at the Lorenzo Theatre in San Lorenzo, CA.

Chris had previously performed at the UC Theatre in Berkeley as Magenta (before a cast had been established there), and then performed briefly during the summer of 79 in Double Feature at the Strand in San Francisco as a Transylvanian.

Chris intentionally modelled RKO after Double Feature/Celluloid Jam, the first cast to put on a full choreographed performance during Rocky.
