Biography

Syrinx was first brought into the world of The Rocky Horror Picture Show because of a Sociology paper that he had to write in college. It was a Cultural Immersion Experience that he chose to take part in and that was the first time he ever saw a live show. He became a fan of the movie that he had on DVD years before but seeing this new world is what really brought this movie to life. A few years later, he decided to visit the Whores of a Different Color once again, only to find out that they not only changed performers but also their cast name to The Fishnet Mafia. It was after that second viewing that he approached them about joining the cast as The Criminologist, which is a part that they didn't have at the time. The jokes and improv started with the first show, with the chicken beak on his forehead. But it was in the following year that he became known for his book covers: "Harry Potter and the Angry Owl", "World of Sexcraft: Official Transvestite Guide", "Horton Hears a Doctor Who", and "Green Eggs and Meat Loaf", to name a few. In 2006, he then auditioned for Riff Raff. But, before he became the role that he is most known for, he was actually Rocky for three shows. Then he became Riff Raff, and his first show as that role was on December 5, 2006.[1]

His breakthrough year as Riff Raff was during 2008, where be became known "The Man of 12 Faces". For every takeover Riff scene, he would come out as a different character, complete with a full costume change. Most were for the theme of that particular show, but there were some other standout moments. This included the introduction of Dr. Roger Fleming (with the Skeleton), The Joker (applause happened!), Doctor Who, Sweeny Todd, V (from V For Vendetta), and Anakin Skywalker. He would continue to either be Riff Raff or a Transylvanian throughout the rest of his time with The Fishnet Mafia. However, because of the various switch shows that they performed, he has actually played everyone except for Janet.

After October 2011, he thought he was done as he moved to Roanoke, VA. There weren't any Rocky Horror casts based in this area, so after some serious thought, he had decided that he knew enough and could form his own cast. Charming Underclothes came to be in 2015, with the help of Carla Bridle, who was also the Con Chair of MystiCon; that Syrinx is also the Music Director for. After the official announcement, he then found out about The Tolls of Madness, who had invited him (and any other CU cast members) to join them as they got started. Syrinx performed with them for the month of October (2015) as Charming Underclothes was starting to form for its first show in February 2016.
