The Wrecking Crew
The Wrecking Crew were a group of legendary Los Angeles session musicians that played on countless commercial releases including LPs by The Beach Boys, Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, The Monkees, Sonny & Cher, Phil Spector, The Carpenters, The Association, Frank and Nancy Sinatra, and The Partridge Family. Many of their recordings are among some of the biggest selling and most widely heard records of all time. Several of these musicians played on The Rocky Horror Show - Original Roxy Cast LP.
The Wrecking Crew is the subject of a 2008 documentary directed by Denny Tedesco, the son of guitarist Tommy Tedesco. On March 13, 2015, the film had it's Los Angeles premiere at the Nuart Theater. During the Q&A, Tedesco acknowledged the musicians' contributions to the Original Roxy Cast LP. Also in attendance was drummer Hal Blaine, who quipped, "I thought Rocky Horror only played at the Nuart on Saturday nights."
