Richard Milhous Nixon (January 9,1913 - April 22, 1994) was the 37th President of the United States. He was the only commander-in-chief to resign from his position.
On August 9 1974, he resigned rather than be impeached for covering up illegal activities of party members in the Watergate affair. His resignation speech was broadcast on national television, and used as a background radio program in The Rocky Horror Picture Show when Brad Majors and Janet Weiss are driving to visit Dr. Everett Scott to tell him of their engagement.
One of the earliest callbacks at Rocky Horror screenings was when Nixon says "America needs a full time president" the audience replied, in unison, "not a part-time ass-hole."
