Eddie's Saxophone Solo
These are the two parts of Eddie's saxophone solo during Hot Patootie, Bless My Soul. They are both in the key of C# Major. The tempo is around 160 beats per minute. Notes should be played more short and sharp (staccato) than long.
The first solo begins at the second "ro" syllable of "rock and roll". The lines sweeping upwards to the first three notes indicate an upward slide (glissando) of about a whole step (G#-A#), or grace note. The lines trailing downwards after a note indicate a downward glissando lasting about one beat.
The second solo begins at the third staff and is also in C# Major. It starts as the Transylvanians begin their "step, step, step, kick" moves.
The song then shifts to D Major as Eddie gets on his motorbike and stays in that key through the rest of the song.
