Michael White (January 16, 1936 – March 7, 2016) was Scottish-born producer, known for the original The Rocky Horror Show and well as the screen version, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Educated at the Sorbonne in Paris, and went to work as a Wall Street runner in New York in the '50s. After taking an interest in theatre, he spent five years as assistant to Sir Peter Daubeny at the World Theatre in London. At 26, White produced his first West End play, a production of Jack Gelber's The Connection. His first major success was the 1970 West End production of Housewife, Superstar, starring Barry Humphries. He next produced Sleuth on Broadway and a long-running version of Oh! Calcutta! on the West End.

In 1973, White produced the original Theatre Upstairs production of The Rocky Horror Show. White went on to produce the film version, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, in 1975. The same year, White served as Producer for Monty Python and the Holy Grail. White also served as Director for the Rocky Horror step-child, Shock Treatment in 1981, despite the fact that he had signed away his rights to its predecessor early on, leaving him with mixed feelings about its success.

White authored his autobiography, titled "Empty Seats," in 1985, and a documentary about his life titled The Last Impresario was released in 2013.

He passed on March 7, 2016 of heart failure, aged 80. On March 9, 2016, the front house-lights were dimmed on the West End in his honor.
