Michael White (born: January 16, 1936, in Scotland) is a producer, known for the original Rocky Horror Showand well as the screen version, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Educated at the Sorbonne in Paris, and went to work as a Wall Street runner in New York in the '50s. After taking an interest in theatre, he spent five years as assistant to Sir Peter Daubeny at the World Theatre in London. At 26, White produced his first West End play, a production of Jack Gelber's The Connection. He next produced Sleuth and Oh! Calcutta! and in 1973, produced the original Theatre Upstairs production of The Rocky Horror Show. White went on to produce the film version, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, in 1975 as well as co-ordinating the production of Monty Python and the Holy Grail the same year. White authored his autobiography, titled "Empty Seats," in 1985.
