The Alpha 3 Theater in Louisville, Kentucky, was a theater that had a 1975 prime-time engagement of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The Alpha 3 was part of the Alpha Cinemas chain of 4 theaters in the area. The first 100 attendees were given the completely scarce 20th Century Fox promotional T-Shirt. Note that the ad says "no purchase necessary." Located on Brownsboro Road, the theater opened in 1972. The 500-seat auditorium was split half and opened as twins on December 22, 1976. Although it closed in 1982, it is still standing. It was remodeled into restaurant and later a store space. Although the exact dates of this engagement are not known, it is thought to be one of the 10 other theaters that were scheduled to have opened immediately after the exclusive showing at the UA Westwood.
