Columbia's Closet is a blog created by Mina Credeur that details her research and construction methods for making Rocky Horror costumes. In previous years she accepted custom commissions, but now only sells accessories at conventions and embroidered patches.

Background

Mina Credeur created the blog in 2009 to compliment her custom costume business by detailing the work that went into her costumes. Because it's a blog format readers are invited to comment with their own results and insights.

Embroidery

Denton High patches

Mina sells embroidered reproductions of the following at conventions and (sometimes) online:

  • Brad's Denton High School patch
  • Frank's motorcycle jacket patches
  • Frank's metallic floral overlay

Mina has also made custom patches for special events including:

Patterns

Mina offers several free sewing patterns on her blog that can be downloaded, and is currently in the process of importing the rest of her pattern designs into a Fashion CAD program to be sized and printed to offer for sale.

Custom Fabric

Fabric Swatches

Mina has created reproduction prints of some of the fabrics from the film. Details and purchase information are available on her blog.

  • 1/2" Pink gingham plaid for Janet's dress
  • Plaid for Brad's bow tie (red-black-blue-yellow)
  • Plaid for Brad's cummerbund (red-black)
  • Blue stripes for Columbia's pajamas
