Shadow Cast

A Shadow Cast is a group of costumed performers who act out the scenes on screen in random with the running of the film. The concept of a Shadow Cast was born out of the original Audience Participation at The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but has been applied to several other films since, often with the same casts that perform at their various Rocky Horror venues.

Early costumed performers like the pioneer The Rocky Horror Revue created pre-show and post-show performances, while the practice of performing during the film evolved as the cult grew.
