Costuming

Mina began making her own costumes in 1988, which soon led to making costumes for friends on the cast. When she started her own show at the River Oaks Theatre in 1992 she made a set of costumes for the cast. She left for college and returned in 1998 to start (and costume) another cast - The Beautiful Creatures (I). As the internet expanded in the late 90's she offered her costumes online. She became overextended in 2001 which led to a hiatus until she returned to the scene in 2006. In 2009 she began a blog, Columbia's Closet, to illustrate her techniques and research. She was 2011 winner of The Boss Award for her website. In 2013 she began to shift her sewing endeavors to historical costuming and was no longer taking Rocky Horror (or reproduction) commissions. She continues to maintain her blog and sell accessories at conventions.
